To a court with no judge...

And so starts the catch up of my summer hols. The husband went back to uni this week (final year, thank bloody goodness) and so I'm back to the weekly routine and plan on recommencing my normal blogging schedule. The start of August saw our 2nd wedding anniversary. Two whole years!! Talk about time flying.  Last year we went camping, a trip that I organised which meant that it was the husband's turn this year to arrange something fun and special. All kept a secret, my first clue was written inside my anniversary card...

"...to a court with no judge..."

I had a pretty good idea where we were going, have you guessed it yet?

Hampton Court Palace! Hurrah!

The last time I was there I was seven or eight with knee high socks, an anorak and sporting a bumbag, absolutely petrified about the haunted tower. Got to love school trips with packed lunches, clip boards and worksheets flapping about in the wind.

We had a little wander around and then had a game of good old Tudor 'Fox and Geese' (which the husband won. Harumph.)

But of course Hampton Court would not be worth a visit without trying out the infamous maze.

Which way?!

It being our anniversary and first day out without the baby the husband and I were feeling a little playful and tried to find a dead end to have a bit of a snog- which occurred but was very short lived due to an over-zealous five year-old running around the corner and stopping dead in his tracks after seeing two grown-ups being super gross and having a kiss. His father following a few seconds behind sussed out what we were up to and ushered his boy away, quick sticks giving us a death stare as he departed. Oops!

The second clue to the day read "... to a circus with no lion..." which was, you guessed it, a shopping trip to Oxford Street! What a year it has been, but I'll write more on that another day as I have reason to do my yearly review/ plan for the year ahead with my.... birthday!!

  5. What a lovely anniversary. I love Hampton Court Palace. I went there for the first time last summer with a group of about 20 Italian teenagers. I'd love to go back alone some time to have a proper look. Happy Belated Anniversary x
